Retired Butler Aviation Supervisor James Orlowski
A retired aviation professional based in Villa Park, Illinois, James Orlowski served as the supervisor of the swing shift at Ohara Airport’s Butler Aviation for six years. His duties in this position ranged from baggage unloading to overseeing cleaning crew operations. He also managed all flight operations and maintenance activities during non-traditional work hours, including nighttime shifts. Through these and other activities at Butler Aviation, James Orlowski contributed to aviation safety and optimized operations at Ohara Airport.
James Orlowski studied aviation as part of the Belleville Area College aviation program, now part of Southwestern Illinois College. The program offers several pilot degrees and certifications. He also holds a political science degree from the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. Now retired, he enjoys maintaining his home and property and restoring classic cars, such as his 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. In addition he spends time watching films and television shows and spending time with his family. He stays physically active by playing golf and tennis, and enjoys music and has performed live as part of a band.
